Answers to common questions

What score is good enough?

There is no pass mark. A higher score simply means fewer obvious gaps.

Is a puppy cheaper overall?

The sticker price is lower, but training and time costs can be large and results are uncertain.

Can I do this with a full-time job?

Possibly, with a plan for midday care and evening exercise.

What if my partner disagrees?

Resolve it first. A dog needs everyone on the same page.

Does this site sell dogs?

No. K9PN, a referral service, neither sells dogs nor trains them, and it is not a breeder.

Are the pictured dogs available?

No. Photos are decoration.

Which rules should I read before buying?

Your state and local laws come first, then your lease or HOA covenants and your insurance policy.

Will K9PN choose the dog for me?

No. K9PN refers your request to a professional, who talks with you about options.

Is the form free?

Yes. Sending a request costs nothing.

Scored it? Now ask someone who knows dogs.

Send your ZIP code and a few notes. K9PN forwards them to a professional covering your area.
